AMESBURY Town have confirmed a quartet of pre-season friendlies at their Bonneymead Park ground. The Wessex Premier outfit host Devizes Town on Saturday, July 8, then welcome Sherborne Town a week later. AMESBURY Cricket Club bounced back from two early season defeats with a resounding win at home to Fawley in Saturday's County Division Four (West) match. Andy Renshaw hit a ton at Archers Gate as they posted 241-5. He eventually closed on 113, with skipper Jayme Underwood contributing a more than useful 50. The openers enjoyed a 110-plus run partnership. In reply, the visitors were halted shortly after reaching three figures.   Result Amesbury 241-5 bt Fawley II 104 all out by 137 runs

SHREWTON Cricket Club enjoyed that winning feeling on Saturday with both their first and second teams ending the day triumphant. In County Division One, the firsts won comprehensively at Rowledge II - by 111 runs. Batting first, Shrews posted a fine 280-8. They then bowled the hosts out for just 169. Meanwhile, in their Regional Division One (North West) contest at home to Totton & Eling III, Shrews' second string won by a comfortable seven wickets. Chasing 166-8, they lost just a trio of wickets en route to their target. Stuart Cruise, 69 not out, and Nick Palmer, 47 not out, saw them home.

SOUTH Wilts Cricket Club's hopes of making it three wins in a row were washed out away at Alton where no play was possible due to a waterlogged pitch. However, the Salisbury side remain top of the Premier Division table. Meanwhile, the club's seconds lost by 22 runs in their Division Two match at home to Hartley Wintney.
