SALISBURY Hockey Club's ladies' first team cemented their second place slot in Premier Division A despite losing one of their two games over the weekend.

Saturday saw the West Women's League's top two sides meet - champions Newent beating the Skew Bridge outfit 5-1.

Salisbury then enjoyed a 3-0 win away at Firebrands II on Sunday to take them four points clear of third placed Gloucester II, who were held to a 1-1 draw at Redland UWE on Saturday.

Salisbury's final game is at home to fourth-placed Redland on Saturday (March 25).

Newent, who are ten points clear at the summit, conclude their fixtures at Firebrands II.
