SALISBURY-based Paula Walker and her GB1 partner Gillian Cooke took a highly creditable joint seventh place at Konigssee, Germany in the FIBT Bobsleigh World Cup.

The 25-year-old corporal in the Royal Signals based at Bulford, led the women's two-man bob competition at one stage during the fifth round of the contest.

Walker, the 2011 junior world bobsleigh champion, worked her way up to top spot from 12th place after round one to eventually finish with a total time of 1:44.92 - the same as the Russian pairing of Anastasia Tambovtseva and Margarita Ismailova.

Germany's Cathleen Martini and Berit Wiacker were first in 1:43.56.

Walker and Cooke, who train at the University of Bath, registered the second fastest push of the contest.
