SALISBURY FC picked up three more points in emphatic style on Saturday by hammering eight past Shortwood United without reply.

The Whites opened their account after just four minutes courtesy of Lewis Benson. Samuel Roberts quickly doubled their advantage making it 2-0 inside ten minutes.

Marvin Brooks then bagged two in five minutes towards the end of the half to send the visitors in four goals to the good at the break.

The goals continued to flow in the second half - Thomas Whelan making it 5-0 in the 55th minute.

Brooks completed his hat-trick for number six on 79 minutes before Kane O'Keefe added a seventh six minutes from time.

The hosts' humiliation was complete when Sam Ockwell helped the ball into his own net in stoppage time.

A crowd of 164 watched the game.

Next up for the Whites is their FA Cup second qualifying round tie at home to Poole Town on Saturday, September 16 (3pm).

Their league game with Cirencester Town, originally scheduled for that date, is now to be played on Tuesday, September 18.
