SALISBURY FC pulled off an FA Cup upset by beating Farnborough by the odd goal in five in this afternoon's First Qualifying Round tie.

Flavio Tavares netted what proved the winner nine minutes from time in what had been a pulsating cup tie to earn the Whites a place in Monday's second qualifying round draw.

Salisbury - who play a division below the hosts - took the lead after just 11 minutes courtesy of a Lewis Benson effort.

Dan Walker levelled for the hosts on 43 minutes and despite six minutes of added time the tie was evenly poised 1-1 at the break.

But just two minutes into the second half, Perry Coles was presented with a simple tap in after confusion in the visitors' defence to put 'Borough 2-1 up.

Rhys Baggridge levelled for the Whites on 72 minutes and their comeback was complete thanks to Tavares' 81st minute goal.

As well as a place in the next round, Whites pick up a cheque for £3,000 from the competition's prize fund.

A crowd of 396 watched the game.
