SOUTH Wilts Cricket Club registered their fifth win of the season with a five-wicket success at home to fellow high-fliers St Cross Symondians.

Batting first after winning the toss at Wilton Road, the visitors were all out in the 64th over for 237 - having been cruising at 230-4.

Harry Came led the way with the bat, scoring 106 before being caught by Ben Draper off the bowling of James Hibberd, 4-30. Luke Evans was also among the wickets with 3-32 from 6.4 overs.

The hosts, who were 52-3 at one point, reached their target inside 49 overs - Draper also hitting a century, before, ironically, being caught by Came.

Sam Arnold, 49 not out, Tom Cowley, 43, Jack Mynott, 22, and Hibberd, unbeaten on ten, ensured no further dramas for the hosts, who are now third in the table. St Cross drop to fourth.

Next up for the Salisbury side is a trip to league leaders Lymington.

The opening day of July saw all four of South Wilts' senior sides victorious. The seconds defeated St Cross' second string away by 23 runs, the thirds won at home to Tichborne Park II with seven wickets to spare, while the fourths made it four wins on the spin by bowling Winterslow out for 27 after making 123 all out.
