WILTSHIRE County Cricket Club kept their hopes of reaching the next stage of the Unicorns Knock Out Trophy alive when they beat Bedfordshire by 122 runs on Sunday.

Bedfordshire won the toss at Warminster and asked the hosts to bat.

Wiltshire - thanks largely to Tom Morton, 37, Mikey Reynolds, 67, and Michael Coles, 57, made 259 before being all out in the 50th over. Bedfordshire's J Carpenter took 3-65 and G Thurstance 3-59.

In reply, the visitors were halted in the 29th over for 137 - Wiltshire's seam bowlers proving too much for the opposing team's batsmen. Man of the match Andy Carroll led the way with 4-21 of ten overs, assisted by 18-year-old Archie Easton, who bagged 3-44 on his debut, and James Arney, 2-28.

Wiltshire now face Hertfordshire this Sunday (May 14) in a must-win contest if they are to make the quarter-finals. Hertford Cricket Club's ground is the setting for the match, which is scheduled to start at 11am.
