MERE Bowls Club have been crowned Westbrook Mixed Triples Bowls League champions after Sixpenny Handley BC's failure to win their two remaining matches meant they could finish no higher than second.

Meanwhile, in the Wiltshire Four-Rink League, Amesbury's defeat by Royal Wootton Bassett means they miss out of a final with Holt.

In the New Forest Men's Finals, Downton's Bob Tanner playing with David Emm won through in the Pairs Plate with  Tanner also winning the Singles Plate.

In the Bowls England Finals played at Leamington Spa, David Warner from Amesbury won through to the quarter-finals of the Two Wood Singles before losing to eventual winner Sam Tolchard from Devon.
