SARUM Orienteers put in some good performances in the inter-club Galoppen event put on by Wimborne Orienteers at Moors Valley Park near Ringwood.

This was the fifth event in an annual league for South West Orienteering Association Clubs with cumulative scores determining the outright course winners after 9 events at the end of the season.

Ben Chesters was 2nd on the tough Brown course whilst Paul Lane was 3rd on the Blue course. Alex Buck (M16) had an excellent  5th place on the Blue course, competing well against older competitors.

On the Green course Martin Goddard and Gwyn Davis were 2nd and 9th respectively. Peter Hambleton was 2nd on the Short Green course. Hazel Cutler (W18) had another good run to take 3rd place on the Light Green course and Adrian Dawson was 3rd on the Orange course.

The next event, organised by North Gloucester Orienteering Club is at Cranham, near Cheltenham on 18th Jan, 2015.
