SALISBURY City Amateur Boxing Club has been in celebratory mood.
Besides the three Western Counties Championship belts landed by the club's more established stars, several new faces burst onto the boxing scene.
Ashley Wilkins, Aaron Chivers and Ben Aldridge are the pick of the new crop of fighters to emerge from the past season.
Ashley Wilkins became the youngest ever Salisbury boxer, when only three weeks after his 11th birthday, he fought two bouts at Penhill, Swindon.
His performance and the two wins he secured, saw him awarded the Boxer of the Night award.
Aaron Chivers, a late starter to the season, finished on a high with a win in the last show of the campaign, while Ben Aldridge also enjoyed a promising debut towards the end of the season.
Adam Aldridge is another with exciting prospects for next season. He emerged from a difficult season as a broken arm hampered his progress, but he recovered to gain a fine win in the final show of the year.
The club’s head junior coach, Dean Vigor was very proud of his charges' performances.
"This season has seen the hard work of our boxers pay off. Our coaches are understandably very proud of all of them."
He also praised the club's many volunteers whose efforts have been rewarded by the lads' performances.
"Our dedicated team of coaches have worked very hard and we are all looking forward to the next season.”
