BECKHAMPTON-based trainer Roger Charlton notched a swift double at Salisbury on Wednesday afternoon in the Netherhampton track's penultimate meeting of 2012.

So Beloved (9/1) took the honours in the opening race, with Magog (16/1) taking the second division of the one-mile contest.

James Doyle was in the saddle on So Beloved, which closed one length ahead of Frankie Dettori and Tawhid in the first division of the British Stallion Studs EBF Booker Wholesale Maiden Stakes.

Luca Cumani's Greatwood was third - Patrick Hills was aboard the 5/4 favourite.

Dettori finished second again to a Charlton horse in the race's second division - Ikhtisas (13/2) trailing by one-and-a-half lengths to Ian Mongan and 16/1 outsider Magog. David Elsworth's Snoqualmie Chief (33/1) was third.

The Richard Hannon-Richard Hughes partnership was to the fore again in the day's third race, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Molson Coors Novice Stakes. Baltic Knight justified its 5/4 favourite tag to finish ahead of King Dragon, completing a hat-trick of second place finishes for Dettori.

Rae Guest's Cufflink (4/1) was first past the post in the Higos Insurance Services Southampton Claiming Stakes - Nicky Mackay in the saddle. Breaking The Bank (12/1) was second with Kieren Fallon and 15/8 favourite No Compromise back in third.

Martin Lane then delivered Breton Rock (9/4) to victory in the Higos Insurance Services Conditions Stakes, getting the better of Mutazamen (5/2) by three-quarters of a length for David Simcock.

Hannon chalked up a second win of the afternoon when Choral (11/1) and Sean Levey took the Higos insurance Services Bournemouth Handicap. Jim Crowley, aboard Links Drive Lady (8/1) was second with Darren Egan and Ertikaan (12/1) third. Crew Cut (12/1) was fourth.

Kieren Fallon notched another Salisbury success when bringing Uncle Dermot home first in the seventh of the day's eight races. The 16/1 shot, trained by Brendan Powell, won by a comfortable four-and-a-half lengths.

James Doyle closed the meeting just as he had started it - in the winners' enclosure - after steering Amanda Perrett's Presto Volante first past the judge. Madame St Clair (16/1) was second with Maria Letizia third.
