THE Wanderers kept their hopes of winning the treble alive when beating Porton Sports 2-0 in the semi-final of the Premier Cup. After a goalless first half, Tim Fewins opened their account just seven seconds into the second half, clipping the ball in off the post after a perfectly timed run. The Premier Division leaders then dominated proceedings and eventually doubled their advantage courtesy of Eddie Perrett. In the final, Liam McConnell's side will meet Devizes inn, who beat South Newton & Wishford 3-2 in the day's other semi-final.

BEMERTON Heath Harlequins suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to high-fliers Newport IoW on Saturday. The Islanders' win lifts them to fourth in the table. Heath, who host near-neighbours Downton on Tuesday evening, are eighth. Harlequins complete their fixtures at Folland Sports on Saturday.

WILTSHIRE County Cricket Club complete their pre-season matches on Bank Holiday Monday (April 21) with a friendly against Dorset at South Wilts CC, starting at 11am. The county side were victorious last weekend, defeating Berkshire by 58 runs in their Marlborough Cup match. CHALKE Valley lifted the Charity B Cup thanks to a 3-0 win against Amesbury Kings Arms. Valley led 2-0 at the break, adding a third late in the second half. It was the second cup final in a fortnight in which they had defeated Amesbury, having won the Heseltine Cup following a penalty shoot-out.
